The President of the Republic of Poland grants Polish citizenship or refuses to grant it in the form provisions. The decision of the President of the Republic of Poland on matters of citizenship has discretionary character, does not require justification and can not be appealed. The voivode competent for the place of residence of the foreigner, recognizes the foreigner as a Polish citizen:


  • residing continuously on the territory of the Republic of Poland from at least 3 years on the basis of a permanent residence permit, a residence permit long-term resident of the European Communities or at

  • a minor foreigner, of which one of the parents is a Polish citizen residing on the territory of the Republic of Poland. the territory of the Republic of Poland on the basis of a residence permit permanent, resident's residence permit
  • the long-term Communities European Union or the right of permanent residence, and the other parent The non-nationals who did not hold Polish citizenship consented to this recognition,
  • minor a foreigner whose one or more parents have been reinstated Polish citizenship, if the minor resides on the territory of the Republic of Poland the Republic of Poland on the basis of a permanent residence permit, a residence permit for a long-term resident of the European Communities, or the right of permanent residence and the other parent who does not hold a nationality The President of the Republic of Poland has agreed to this recognition,
  • pneedy continuously and legally on the territory of the Republic of Poland as follows for at least 10 years, which satisfies the following cumulative conditions: has permanent residence permit, resident's residence permit the long-term European Communities or the right of permanent residence, and has a stable and regular source of income in the Republic of Poland and the legal title to occupy the dwelling,
  • residing continuously on the territory of the Republic of Poland at least from one year on the basis of a permanent residence permit obtained in connection with Polish origin or the Card of the Pole held.
